Spring Pleats

It has been gorgeous weather this week.  What better way to welcome spring than with my spring dresses.  This pleated dress has been in my closet for a few years now, but never gets old in my book.  Please pardon my winter-white legs.  They will see some Caribbean sunshine here in two weeks! How about these nude heels? I love how they are the same color as my skin giving my legs an immediate few extra inches. 🙂  Okay, so you cant make your legs longer, but quick hint to find nude heels that are the same shade as your skin to help elongate your legs. How are you wearing your spring favorite items during this beautiful weather?

Please also excuse my brief WEEK long absence over here on my slice of the web.  Lets be honest, sometimes life happens and my poor blog here gets neglected, but it is for big things to come in the future.  I would like to share a tiny bit of good news on a personal level and why blogging has been sort of neglected lately.  I have decided to purse my lifelong dream of owning my own boutique!  Although it is in the early stages, I can share it will be an online boutique hopefully launching in May 2015! Next month!

Anyone else sticking with your fitness routine? It is April and this girl right here is getting better every month.  I just completed a fitness challenge of 1800 minutes in 60 days (went over 1800 minutes!) and began a new challenge today with some co workers! The current fitness challenge is 150 miles in 10 weeks.  My personal goal is to run more of those miles than walk! Do you need a fitness challenge, you should try it.  It averages to a little over two miles everyday.  That could be walking or running, you should definitely try it out! My moto….Get Moving! 🙂

Does anyone else dress up a little more when it is nice out?  I do for sure! Not only was today a nice day to pull out this skirt from last season for these warmer temperatures, but I had good intensions of looking presentable for work. No a business suit was just a little to stuffy for me today. I don’t know about you guys, but when someone important will be making an appearance in the same building, I tend to make sure I look professional.  Not that I don’t look professional every other day at the office it is just a ‘thing’ I have always done.  I have never really discussed my full time job over here on the blog, but today at work the BIG boss was coming into the office.  Big boss as in the Commissioner of CBP (Customs Border Protection) was actually coming to our office for a brief moment.  By brief, I mean maybe 5 minutes tops to speak to all of us quickly and back to my desk I went.  Point being, I have always found it important to present yourself for the job and life you want to live. Of course I was not going to have tea and talk shop with the big boss, but I always want to carry myself in a professional manner and my attire is the key to doing that in a office setting.

For my professional office look today, I stuck with my favorite pattern, polka dots!  This skirt I absolutely love and adore each and every time I put it on.  This top, well it speaks for itself.  In keeping both pieces polka dots I decided to tone down the look with a solid cardigan over top.  Have I mentioned lately I love wearing nude heels because if you are vertically challenged like myself, it will elongate your legs instantly. On the flip side my legs are in desperate need of a tan. Eeekkkks!  As for accessories, I kept it very simple and clean, nothing to flashy.  And that is positively polka dots folks!

Everyone excited for the weekend?  It goes by way to fast but oh how I love those two days off work. 🙂 Anyone have fun plans?  I always love hearing about what you’re doing for the weekend!

XOXO,

Jessica

Hello sunshine!  So glad you graced us with your presence.  I hope wherever you are located, you are getting some wonderful spring sunshine too. Aaaaamazing!  It might not be spring quite yet, but I am ready to wear my spring uniform.  Okay, I don’t wear a daily uniform to work but this look here is along the lines of what I live in at work.  Simple and pops of color.  How will you wear your spring uniform? I would love to hear what you guys are wanting to live in this spring.

Today’s look is going to be on repeat here on the blog. Okay, maybe I will switch up the pieces I mix together, but these crop print pants I tell ya.  They are so comfortable and were one of my best purchases recently.  How many of you sell or buy on Poshmark?(check it out if not)  I will admit, I do both!  I sell my unwanted items in my closet as well as buy gently used clothing. These pants are like brand new!  I bought the pants along with a striped JCrew button up and paid $25 for both items.  Deal, I think so.  Best part is both those items were on my “must have list” I created for the new season. Which reminds me, have you been following your “must have” list when purchasing items?  This method has worked really well for me and I have cut back on items that just sit in my closet because they were on sale. Ask me more if you want to know how I create and follow a list when shopping for new seasons.

XOXO,

Jessica
