Happy 4th of July from my family to yours! Wishing you all a safe and fun day with your family and friends. This will be a short post today as I need to go clean my house and put everything back in our master bedroom after laying new flooring.
Sharing my quick 4th of July look. I love wearing this top in a front knot to shorten the length and make it a little more ‘crop’ like. The hat backwards had me feeling my inner 90’s kid-self. Sometimes you just have to love a laid back 4th of July look to finish off your long weekend.
Happy September! Shame on me for neglecting my readers here on the blog. I am sure you have noticed my time in between post is waaaaay too long. I promise I am working on creating a more “schedule” like for blog post to come. If you are new to My Brunette Adventure I recently started an online boutique which currently has most of my attention and time aside from my full time job. Oh how I need more than 24 hours in a day!! Well enough of my excuses. Don’t forget to check out my DIY staircase makeover blog post here. It looks great and has really made our stairs look a million times better than the old, ugly carpet. Today’s blog post is one of my favorite patterns right now, gingham!
I picked up these Gingham shorts at the beginning of the summer, but you can get them on sale now, here. They can be paired with so many colored tops and types of tops. You just might see me wearing them again next weekend for Labor Day! 🙂 Today’s outfit was quick and easy to throw on to run weekend errands. Don’t you just love those kind of outfits? This post has been waiting and waiting to make its debut as it was from weeks ago when my husband and I took a day trip to IKEA. Yes, we have to travel 2 hours one way to the nearest IKEA!! But this outfit was great for the hot summer heat and day date with the hubs! Check out our new dining room rug we picked up from IKEA over on my Instagram. @mybrunetteadventure We are also in the process of a DIY farmhouse table that will be on the blog one day. Yes, one day when it is finally finished. 🙂

Keeping it basic today on the blog in this black maxi dress. One of my favorite go-to items, basics! This basic maxi dress is great for mixing and matching accessories each time I wear this dress. Today, I chose a panama hat with a pair of cognac sandals and a cognac handbag. My favorite if you can’t tell by now! 🙂 Needing a quick look? Go with basic pieces and add minimal accessories to finish your look. I believe less is best! What are some of your favorite go-to basic pieces?
Yes, this is two post in one week!!! It has been quite a while since that has happened. Later this week I will share my DIY stairwell makeover: Part One.
