Happy Friday! It is the beginning of March and we are still in colder temperatures. Is it already March!?  However, the temperatures are suppose to rise into the 40’s and 50 here in the next week.  Yay!  As for recently, we had some snow and what better way than take some photos in this favorite scarf of mine.  I have had this scarf a few years now and it is definitely my go-to scarf when winter is around.  Okay, call me crazy for wearing these open flats, but I spend most of my work day indoors. I love pairing button ups with sweaters for a classic preppy look. Top it with my scarf to keep me toasty through the winter months.

So of course, it is still scarf weather!  I do see some higher temperatures in our near future though.  Two thumbs up on that!  I will be sharing some of my new favorite items I picked up for the spring/summer time.  Mostly items I will take on our vacation next month.  Countdown has begun!  I just realized how pasty white I am and how that Caribbean sunshine might eat me alive. 🙂  Who has big plans for the weekend? What are you up to?

Oh and remember I keep it really here on the blog, yes it was a bad hair day. 🙂

Happy Friday,

Jessica

With the extremely cold temps around here, I was not able to go outside today to do an outfit shoot.  Sad face! Instead, I am sharing a few photos from our trip to Chicago back in December before the holidays. It was a very cold trip in Chicago when we were in town, but we made the best of it. As we always do, lots of walking, shopping and great food. If you have yet to make a trip to the windy city, I strongly recommend visiting at least once in your life.  As for the amount of pictures this trip, it was minimal due to the cold temps and lugging around my camera the whole day.  Here, I attempted to bundle up and take a few pictures at Millennium Park, the home of the infumous bean. We were planning on going ice skating until we saw the ginormous line that was not moving.  We were meeting up with my parents for dinner soon so ice skating was out the door. In the few minutes we were standing around the ice rink, I did witness a young couple getting engaged right on the ice. It was awesome to watch something like that happen even though I do not or will never know those two individuals.  Hey, if you ever read this those two people, I wish you a lifetime of happiness and love! It is crazy to think it has been almost three years since we got engaged in Chicago!

During the cold months of Chicago, it is necessary to dress in lots of layers and bundle up. That is exactly what I did here.  There is more of a chill in the air which is more than likely the ‘lake effect’.  You are unable to see exactly what I have on under the coat for a good reason, for me to keep warm!  Tall boots, ear muffs, large scarf and long coat were a definite must when I was packing my bag for the trip. Have you been to Chicago in the winter?  Most people visit in the summer, but since we live within driving distance it is an easy getaway weekend anytime of year for us.  Oh and the shopping, the shopping is awesome. 🙂  My husband is a huge foodie fan so we always try new restaurants when we visit. Great food!  Are you ready to plan a trip? What do you like packing in your bag to stay warm and cute at the same time?

XOXO,

Jessica

Happy Friday and may the weekend begin!  Keeping it super simple and casual for today’s post here on My Brunette Adventure. It was a cold and rainy day here causing me to go straight to my comfortable pieces. I thought my leopard accessories were the best choice to vamp up today’s look.  The rest of the outfit I kept it very basic.  A little singing and dancing in the rain anyone? While wearing leopard? Sorry for the bit of blur to the photos, as you can see behind me it was nearly dark out. Ummmmmm, yes it was 5:10 and the street lights were already on.  My kid self would say that is totally not fair. Mom always said, “you should be home before the street lights come on”.  Well mom, today I would have not made it home before the street lights came on. 🙂  Okay, so my mom never said that but it is a saying, right?

Oh hello weekend, how I have missed you. Do you have any big plans for the weekend? I have a very big to-do list. Lots of holiday-ness going on at the Bryant house. Those who may not know, I make a to-do list just about everyday. Some days the lists do not get accomplished, but that is okay. 🙂

Today, we sing and dance in the rain all while wearing my favorite leopard accessories. What are some of your favorite leopard pieces in your wardrobe?

Have a great weekend!

Jessica
