What to Wear for Thanksgiving

What to Wear for Thanksgiving

I did not forget about you on this chilly Monday. Yes, Thanksgiving is only three days away, but I am sure some of you are still thinking about what you will be wearing to eat all that great food.  Do not panic, I chose all these items from H&M which you can hop over to the mall and pick up in time for Thanksgiving.  If you are like my husband and I, we have a few places to be on Thanksgiving day. Being comfortable and cozy is a must for our drive to each house. These items are great fall pieces that can easily work for winter months as well. This look is easy and I am sure you already have a few similar pieces in your wardrobe. I hope this gives you an idea of what you will be wearing in just a few short days to visit your family and friends. Let me also say, I am amazed at my first collage attempt! Personal victory right there. YAY!

Anyone want to share what you will be wearing for Thanksgiving?

XOXO,

Jessica

I just want to say sorry for being MIA the past two days. I hope you guys enjoy todays outfit post as much as I do. It was a really fun shoot and I am sure the pictures show just how much I crack up laughing at my ‘photographer’ during our outfit shoots.

Are any of you having the hardest time adjusting to a time change? Yes, I am still struggling to adjust. I know my schedule to get these photo shoots in are all over the place. It is dark when I go to work and almost dark when I get home from my commute. With the time change that always means one thing here in Indiana, cold weather is right behind.  Today it was very windy and very chilly. Brrrrrrrrrr.

Can you believe this faux fur vest was only $9 at Forever21? I wanted to try out faux fur two winters ago, so I thought what better way than one at a lower cost? I picked up this one at the end of the season and got a major steal! I am loving this faux fur over the plaid pattern. The plaid shirt and faux fur vest compliment each other well. A faux fur vest is another way to layer in the fall. You can put on a sweater and/or long sleeves, then top off with the faux fur vest to keep you warmer on chilly days. How do you wear your faux fur vest?

I hope you all had a great week. Today is Friday, happy weekend! See you for tomorrow’s post.

Much Love,

Jessica

How To Wear Fall Plaid

My Brunette Adventure loyal reader and dear friend of mine, Sara, recently opened up the topic of Fall plaid. It got me thinking of the 101 ways to wear plaid this Fall. Plaid comes in so many shapes, sizes, and colors. Terms that are often associated with ‘plaid’ in fashion are Tartan, Plaid and Window Pane. I am sure many of your minds go straight to the ‘western cowgirl’ or ‘school girl’ look when you hear plaid. Plaid is much more than those two looks in our world today.

Bring plaid to the workplace and out to dinner. You can mix plaid with other prints as well, just don’t make your outfit too busy.

Work Appropriate Plaid

Are you going to the office? Try a plaid skirt or pants, a plain knit sweater, a structured bag, heels and you are ready.

Try a plaid blouse, with a colored trouser and black heels.

Try a plaid coat over your LBD.

Plaid Button Up Shirts

Are you thinking how you can get more from your plaid button up shirts? Dress it up a little more by throwing on trousers, a crew neck sweater over the top of the button up, a blazer, and loafers. Want to dress it down, wear your button up with a pair of distressed denim pants and booties.

Think striped sweater with a tartan scarf?

Who wants to try out their plaid now? Be sure to mix it up, give it edge or polish whatever you are feeling.  There really are endless possibilities to incorporating plaid into your outfit.

Another plaid outfit idea

A plaid short top tucked into a black faux leather midi skirt with black heels. Love it!

See what you have in your closet that is a plaid pattern for this Fall season. I encourage you to see what pieces you already have that can work together to make you a ‘Mad about plaid’ outfit. Try some of the ideas listed above to get you started.

Happy Plaid-ing,

Jess
