Happy start to the weekend friends! Its Friday! So glad the sun is deciding to stay out a bit more these days. You are probably wondering what all this white coat non sense is about? Lets face it, this as close as I will get to wearing a ‘white coat’. You know, in doc terms. Ha! Well, if you have been around the blog a while you know I love a good blazer for the office. Today was no exception, I needed something to bring light to this outfit since the dress and boots were dark. I am still not to sure how I feel about this combo, but all that matters is I rocked it thinking it looked pretty edgy. What do you guys think? Yay? Nay? By the way, olive green is one of my favorite colors to wear in the fall and winter months, but for some odd reason I do not have many pieces in my wardrobe.
Ladies, might I add that these boots are on sale for $30! Yes, a pair of black over the knee boots for $30, score! I absolutely love these boots. They are a bargain compared to the $500 plus pair of Stuart Weitzman we have all been drooling over. As for these new beauties, my sunglasses, I was so happy to find them this past weekend at TJMaxx. From the moment I saw Karen Walker’s awesome sunglasses I was in love, but could not cough up that kind of cash for sunglasses. Lets be real, over $200 a pair does not fit with my ‘real girl’ budget. Who is with me?? So these beauties will work just great and only cost $10! Awesome! Be sure to check back early next week to see another great deal I scored on a winter coat!
Have a great weekend!

Brrrrrr from the chilly midwest! I hope you are staying toasty where ever you call home. Late Sunday evening we had a few inches of snow grace us with the first snow of the season. These are my simple thoughts on snow; I saw it, now I am over it and freezing. As you can see, I acted like a person who had never seen snow before and started throwing it bare handed. Ummmmm, have I lost my mind? More snow flurries fell from the sky as we took this shoot. Brrrrrr.
Aside from throwing snow, my other favorite part of this photo shoot is my metallic mini skirt. How do you guys feel about metallics? I love metallics and find myself drawn to these items currently while shopping in stores. Okay, maybe not as much the “Tin Man” and dressing head to toe, but some metallic here and there is okay. Although this mini skirt has been a chilly weather repeat for a few years now, it will be a favorite in the coming months. Of course, I had to pair my knee high boots to keep my legs from freezing and turning to icecicles. Top it off with my turtleneck and pale pink moto jacket and we are ready. These earrings I scored over the weekend for only $5.98 at the JCrew Factory store. Who does not love when they have major sales on jewelry? Ummm, no one! Head over to the JCrew Factory online site, maybe you can score some jewelry on sale.
This metallic mini skirt would also look great with an over sized knit sweater or turtleneck sweater! Grab a hot chocolate and your warm PJs to cozy up by the fire.

In a previous post you can see here, I recently added a pair of over the knee boots to my closet. I previously wore them with jeans and a layered sweater look. They can also be paired with a dress or mini skirt. Today, I chose to pair the boots with my black mini skirt, a textured white top and my leather jacket. Keeping a simple black and white combo. These boots are not leather, rather suede material on the front and a stretch fabric along the back of the boot. I like how they are suede versus a leather boot. Suede tends to work well if you are dressing the look up or down.
If you have been wanting to try a pair of over the knee boots, these are a great price point to try out. Right now they are at Target with a “buy one boot get another boot at 50% off”. That is a great deal! You know I love getting a good deal. So far these boots are one of my new favorite pieces to my fall wardrobe.
If you own a pair of over the knee boots, what do you pair with your over the knee boots?
