Our Growing Family- Maternity Photos

Welcome back. I am a few months behind, okay a handful of months behind on blogging content to share with you all. Things have been busy and an adjustment with a new baby. Today, I am sharing a look into our maternity photo shoot. We had a session with a local photography in late January, about 6 weeks before Beckett made her 6-day-late entrance. My husband and I have not gotten professional photographs together since we got married 5 years ago. Our wedding and engagement session?

I really wanted to remember this big milestone in our family so we braved the Indiana January freezing cold to get some great moments. We had never taken family photos that included Lilly, our fur baby, she is only four and she joined our family after our last session five years ago. I cannot say enough about these photographs Erica Rayl Photography captured of our growing family. The location was spot on! Ladies who are pregnant and wondering what to wear during your maternity shoot, I recommend a dress. You can always wear pants in photographs, but I think a dress will look much better and really go a long way from your everyday wear. I picked out my dress and then we put together items my husband already owned. I must say, I am happy with our wardrobe choices. This handsome man has been hands down the best husband and daddy. It has been a difficult year but I knew he would move mountains to shine as the best daddy to Beckett, and Lilly. Though the last year was not easy with his job lay-off, he stepped right up to cook, clean and take care of this preggo lady. Sometimes life is hard and exciting all at once. It definitely was not the ‘plan’ but we are surviving and making the best life. I always tell myself during the hard times, ‘it could always be worse, and to look at the positives’.

Summer Day Dress

What is more exciting, this perfect ‘summer’ weather lately or that I am finally blogging? Okay, maybe you all did not miss me like I have missed blogging. Lets have a small recap on my life since my last post in February. Yes, I said February as in 4 months ago. Since then, I have been working full time, running the boutique business full time, small renovations to our kitchen, attending weddings, going on mini weekend trips and most recently planning/taking a two week vacation to Hawaii for my 30th Birthday. It was the trip of a lifetime and I could go on for hours about it. I took a lot of photos and videos in Hawaii so I am still working on a post or two of that trip. Stay tuned and I will eventually share it here with you all. 🙂

Todays look is one of my favorite summer go to looks. A simple bell sleeve dress with some simple bright designs. This look can go to the beach, the park or a day date. Hope you all are doing well and have some fun things planned for the weekend and summer. I have a few things planned this summer; lake house life in Maryland with my family, girls weekend to see my best friend in Grand Rapids, mini tips and possibly a getaway to Nashville, TN. We recently booked a long weekend trip for early November in NYC. Southwest was having a major sale and I earn points with my Southwest card. Our flights only cost me $22.40! (the taxes & fees you have to pay) I will put together a post soon on how we travel on a budget and get great deals. As for this weekend, I will continue working on our kitchen/patio area, getting caught up on the business, and enjoy the nice weather outside.
