What better way to start off the week than in this comfy military jacket. My weekend is currently extended with it being a holiday today. Anyone else have the day off work? What are your plans? Today, I am sharing my favorite look with my military jacket. This jacket is definitely a go to piece year round. SInce it was a bit warmer on Saturday here in Indy, I wore it for date night with my husband. My husband got free tickets through his employer to the roller derby match here in town. We both had never been and it was such a fun experience to cheer on our Naptown Roller GIrls. If you get a chance or have always wanted to go see a roller derby match, I recommend it! Such a fun time!
Needless to say this was a perfect outfit for pizza beforehand and watching roller derby afterwards. I love being comfortable and this combo did just that for my date night. Some of my favorite pieces coming together in this outfit. I have worn this military jacket in so many ways, whether it be to dress it up or dress it down in a comfortable look like I did here. What are some of your favorite ways to wear your military jacket?
On a side note I am also loving how I got the chance to change up the scenery in the blog photos for you all! Yay! This stone road was so awesome and is in downtown Indianapolis in a quite neighborhood. As the days get longer, it will be much easier to make my way around to new spots to change up the scenery for the blog photos.

Here I go starting off 2015 with a bit of a bang by sharing my ‘Canadian Tuxedo’ look. Yes that is right, I am okay with this look. It is simple and easy to just throw together and go! This denim on denim is whatever you may call it in your fashion world; canadian tuxedo, double denim, texas tuxedo and the list goes on. Since I can remember, I have always called denim on denim a ‘canadian tuxedo’. If I have taught my best friend from childhood one thing from the fashion world, it is the term ‘Canadian tuxedo’. I love going straight to my chambray shirts and what better way then to pair it with some comfy denim jeans. Okay, just make sure you do not attempt the mistake of pairing similar denim washes together, then you are going straight to the 90’s. Keep the washes far from matching or else it really is a canadian tuxedo. 🙂
Sure, my parents still have proof of me rocking a real denim tuxedo in the 90’s, with the washes matching identically. Bingo! Can we say OMG? It sure is fun to see those memories of bad fashion trends and bad hair styles, but well worth the confidence we all had rocking them through that decade. Okay, I know I am not the only one. Who else had matching jeans and jean jackets? It is okay to raise your hand!
I paired my current look with some booties and you are now ready to have a comfy day of errand running or shopping.
Do you guys have your favorite denim pieces?
