Kitchen Cabinet Redo-Part 1

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

It is week 2 of 2018 and this is post #2 of the year! I realized last year, I only posted a total of 3 times on My Brunette Adventure. That is horrible on my part. One of my goals for 2018 is to be more present here on the blog and post more content. Some things that I will post are from 2017, I just never wrote blog post for these topics.

With that being said, I want to share a quick look at our kitchen cabinets that went from not appealing in my opinion to bright white. There are still other projects to complete in the kitchen but this is a part 1 update.  I painted the cabinets and added the hardware.  It was not a difficult project, just very time consuming.

Below is our kitchen when we bought the house. This photo was the previous owners style and from the house listing. Next, is the same kitchen after we made some minor adjustments.

We still have to replace the dishwasher and microwave in the near future.  We are also going to add a new sink, faucet, new countertops and backsplash.  Right now this project is a bit on hold with Baby B arriving soon. 🙂

Stay tuned when we work on Part 2.

Recap of 2017..New Year

image1image2image3

Happy New Year!! Every year I like to reflect back on all the good and the bad the year brought, to see what new goals and experiences to set for the new year. 2017 was full of so many great adventures and experiences.  We watched close friends welcome new babies and close family get hitched. Our travels took us a few different places. From Atlanta for a boutique work trip to LA and Hawaii to celebrate my 30th birthday in my birthplace. Hawaii was a dream and it was by far my favorite place this past year we visited. In late summer, we took a road trip with my family to a lake in Maryland.  In November, we took our last trip of 2017 to NYC to celebrate 4 years of marriage and my husbands 35th birthday. It was a fun trip exploring many neighborhoods of the city. In June, I accepted a promotion from my full time job which has kept me busy the last half of the year.  My husband and I have also been doing some home improvements around the house.  Painting our kitchen cabinets was a big project I tackled early in the summer. We also laid new flooring in our upstairs which is set to be finished before baby. In July, we found out we were expecting our first child and she will be here in March.  We are so excited for this new adventure and to see where 2018 will take us as a family. In 2018, I would really like to show this (poor little) blog of mine more attention, I have really neglected it this past year.  My boutique business is also a goal of growth in the new year.    In the new year, I have made personal and professional goals. What are some of your goals and achievements you want to reach in 2018?

Floral Cover Up

Kimono: 7th & Park Boutique (here)  //  Gold Sandals: JCrew Factory  (here)

Happy long weekend! The long weekend is a good change of pace around here to get somethings done on my to-do list.  What are your plans this weekend? I cannot believe it is already July! This year is flying by. Monday, I am thinking of taking a ‘pool day’ to relax and enjoy the summer sunshine, maybe read a book.

The best pieces to add to your wardrobe are those items that can be worn multiple ways. This 7th & Park Boutique floral cover up can be worn a few ways.  It would look great over a dress. You could pair with pants as I did above.  Or you could simply wear it as a swim cover up for a day at the beach or pool.  I really like the detail of the fringe on the sleeves and bottom hem.  Get this cover up/kimono for under $40 + Free shipping, here.  You can also get these gold sandals which I have been living in this summer, here, for under $25.

Have a great Holiday weekend. I am still currently working on blog posts & a video of our Hawaii trip!
